Most surfshops will stock a few boards but whether you are looking for your first mini mal or something specialised to complete your quiver, you should look for two things.
The first is choice. With more to choose from you are more likely to find the right board for your level of skill, weight, preferred wave size and location.

 The second thing you need is sound advice. Shop owner Andy has been surfing since 1968 and has ridden literally hundreds of boards from five foot twin fins up to twelve foot tankers. He has surfed numerous locations around the world and has seen all the gimmicks come and go.
This experience has taught him what works and why, what different shaped rails do, in various wave sizes. He still surfs all year round and is keen to try out anything interesting that might get traded in the shop. |
